Spring Break

We were really blessed to have two of our grand daughters stay with us during their school spring break. We had lots of fun, drawing on the side walk, the bricks on the side of the house, painting little trinket boxes and playing games.

The girls decided that our back yard gazebo was a perfect place to have a club house, so they spent hours drawing pictures, coloring, have snacks and more inside their new club house.

The house was filled with laughter and screams from playing hide n seek with papa, it was nice to hear all that again. I never realized just how quite the house had become when all the kids left home until now.

I miss the laughter, the crying, the jokes, everything the kids contributed to the house. It seams so lovely without all of them here.

The animals in the yard

Here are acouple of the wild and silly animals forund in our yard.

Compartment Five Snow Days

Well as March 1st came into the picture we found ourselves looking at eight inches of snow at our home in MD. I started laughing because most places will close due to the snow. I grew up in Oregon where snow is every winter, we do not close down until we can no longer drive in the snow ( like up to our knees or more ).

Some people down right freak out over the mention of snow falling while others like myself look at it as a change of pace considering Christmas was a balmy 72 degrees this last year.

My only wish was to have some grandkids around to make a snowman with or to have a snow ball fight. I hope one day that can be a reality. In the mean time here is what our house looks like today.

Compartment Four Joshua's Birthday Party

I know it's been a while since we updated this site. Some things just got a little out of control. But hopeful we are back on track again and moving this train at a better pace.

We drove down the VA to our oldest grandson's birthday party. We had a blast, first we got to take the boys shopping, I had forgotten at that age they want everything they see, it brought back a lot of memories.

Back at the house we had the honor of meeting some very nice new people and their childern. We had cake ( a lovely creation by Nicole ) and a lot of fun watching the kids play games.

After the other guest had left, the Nerf Guns were brought out for some additional fun with the boys.

  • Kool-Aid was the preferred drink for children

  • Children could be found playing outside every chance they got

  • Children walked or rode a Bike every where

  • Mother's took the time to look good and bake cookies

  • Father's played outside with their kids

  • Children made up new games to play

  • Pets were part of the family not something to dress up and show off

  • No need for cell phones, just open the door and yell

  • When your Mother called you by your First, Middle and Last Name, you knew you were in deep trouble

  • When all Dad had to do was give you "The look"

  • Children did not talk back to Parents

  • Respect was given to Adults

  • A Family Reunion was a Yearly Event

  • You did not go to the Doctor for a cold, just use Grandma's Old Recipe

Well I think you get the picture of when these dolls first arrived, so I thought it would be great to bring them back to life.

Compartment Two Vist From The Boy's

I know this is a little late but here we go. Nicole , her mom and the boy's came for a visit. We enjoyed eveyone being here. It's nice to have a home so everyone can visit and have a good time. We moved a few things around the living room so the boys could have plenty of room to play.

My exercise ball seemed to be a big hit of fun, it sort of bounces, rolls and is big enough the boys can bounce and it and the ball just bounces back, LOL.

The nice thing you get hit in the head and it doesn't hurt. The funny part was watching as Josh tried to lay on top of the ball as it rolled to one side taking him with it. Josh laughed and went back for more. Oh to have that that much engery again.

The next morning Papa and the boys went to the sun roon to play with the Train, it even blows real smoke out it's stack, as Papa shows the boys Jeri was in a trance watching as Josh asked Papa can I make the train run, so Papa turns over the control to Josh who turns it up full speed.."

I wonder who he gets that from" the need for speed, LOL. As I was crawling around in the floor I realized just how old I was. But I would not have changed any of it. Papa and I enjoyed every minute of it. We are so looking forward to the day we can have Dana, Adam and the girls here for a visit.

Compartment One "Here's Your Sign"

Last Saturday I was asked to set up a table to demonstrate our mineral makeup for a woman who carry's a few of our products under a private label. As the day went on one woman stopped to talk to me about her age, then said " I don't think you would understand".

I told her I was older then she was, she gave me this look of disbelief. I said I have 4 children, 6 grandkids; the oldest grandchild is 8 and the youngest is 1. She asked to see my drivers license to prove it.

Trying not to argue with her, I pulled out my drivers license and shown it to her. She then said this.... "Do you use the products you make"....Inside me I wanted to say "Here's Your Sign" But I was polite and said that's why no one knows my real age, LOL.

I have been praying and slowing making some changes to which products we will or will not be carrying. This picture is showing an acne soap I have made for some time but it was not selling.

I prayed and renamed it "Glory Soap" acne soap for oily to normal skin. I took 4 bars with me on Saturday and all 4 bars sold. We also sold serval bars we renamed "Victory Soap" oatmeal soap for normal to dry skin.

Then we had a Peppermint & Tea Tree soap that was the biggest hit of all. People were walking by then stop to ask what that scent was. Now here's the funny part my table was right across from a bakery filled with cookies, pies and cakes.

So I said " oh the bake goods taste better when you don't have to make them yourself" The man looked at me and laughed, picked up the Peppermint & Tea Tree Soap and said "I think I am smelling this". So yes I also won a Here's Your Sign". Through it all we have been invited back next month around the 1st.
